Among those familiar with the Chicago Plastic Surgery scene, Lake Shore Plastic Surgery is yet another familiar name. Although it may seem like a large practice on first glance, inspection of the website reveals that it is actually just one independent plastic surgeon - Dr. Michael Horn - who runs everything himself.
We’ve mentioned before that most individual Chicago Plastic Surgeons tend to specialize in one area, and Lake Shore Plastic Surgery and Dr. Horn are no different. Lake Shore specializes in breast augmentation, and Dr. Horn has been featured in several prominent publications and news stations, including CBS and Fox News, for his work. Having these credentials certainly lends much credibility to Dr. Horn and his Lake Shore Plastic Surgery practice.
One unique aspect of Lake Shore Plastic Surgery is that they offer both breast augmentation and breast implants. Many other Chicago Plastic Surgery practices will just offer either augmentation or implants but not both, and there are few who actually specialize in both. In this respect, Lake Shore Plastic Surgery certainly stands apart from its competition.
Dr. Horn and Lake Shore Plastic Surgery also offer many options when it comes to breast augmentation, including high profile vs. moderate profile and under muscle vs. above muscle. High profile breast augmentation will tend to produce more “pop” and a larger external shape, while moderate profile breast augmentation is more conservative and better for those who want more of a breast modification rather than strictly enhancement.
Under muscle vs. above muscle is also a good option to have - as mentioned on the site, Dr. Horn almost always goes with under muscle, but it’s nice to have the option.
Lake Shore also offers “breast lifts” for removing excess and sagging skin and improving the appearance of breasts after a breast augmentation or breast implant.
Overall, Lake Shore Plastic Surgery and Dr. Horn come highly recommended if you’re in the market for breast augmentation plastic surgery.

To those in the Chicago Plastic Surgery community, Dr. Dayan is one of the most well-known and established names and practices out there. Although he is technically an independent surgeon, he has all the credibility and experience of the largest and most renown plastic surgery establishments out there.
Dr. Dayan specializes in facial plastic surgery - so any of you out there looking to explore facelifts, eyelid lifts or lip augmentation may want to check him out. He performs over 40 facelifts yearly, more than double the rate of a typical Chicago Plastic Surgeon, so it’s clear that he has much credibility in this area.
For those looking at Botox injections, Dr. Dayan performs almost 10 times as many each year as the typical plastic surgeon! We’ve looked all over the Chicago Plastic Surgery scene and haven’t yet found anyone with this much experience in facial plastic surgery. He is also highly experienced in rhinoplasty, or nasal reshaping - for those of you unsatisfied with the shapes of your noses and looking for change.
The procedure usually only takes around 1-2 hours complete, and unlike other forms of plastic surgery, you can generally go home and feel fine immediately after. We highly recommend Dr. Dayan for rhinoplasty.
As with many Chicago Plastic Surgeons, Dr. Dayan does not reveal specific prices for each of his procedures on the website. Nevertheless, from our experience he does tend to be a bit more expensive than some of the alternatives in Chicago Plastic Surgery out there. Still, as the old saying goes, you get what you pay for with plastic surgery prices.
If your heart is set on any type of facial plastic surgery or facelift procedure out there, we highly recommend Dr. Dayan. For other types of plastic surgery, you may want to investigate other options, but for facial plastic surgery he can’t be beat.
Weight Loss Plastic Surgery

Electing to have plastic surgery done for weight loss reasons is one of the more common reasons why people have the procedure done. Whether you have liposuction performed or just have some minor cosmetic plastic surgery, it can be very effective at removing fat and inducing weight loss. Among the Chicago Plastic Surgery doctors out there, pretty much everyone offers weight loss plastic surgery of some kind.
One common type of weight loss plastic surgery is an “arm lift” - a surgical procedure to remove fat deposits and loose skin in the upper arm. It is less serious of a surgery than liposuction, but depending on your arm and other conditions it may or may not be worth doing. You should always consult with your doctor first.
Sometimes weight loss plastic surgery is labeled “body contouring” and consists of techniques like the “tummy tuck” and a body lift, as well as liposuction. The “tummy tuck” operation can fix loose or sagging skin in the lower stomach area and is typically used to create a flatter, more proportional mid-section.
A “body lift,” meanwhile, fixes the sagging skin that occurs following any kind of weight loss plastic surgery. Although the procedures are generally safe, sagging skin is a common symptom post-surgery.
Among those offering Chicago Plastic Surgery, you can expect to pay between $2,500 and $4,500 for any type of weight loss plastic surgery if it is performed in only one area. A general rule of thumb is to add $1,000 to the total cost for each area in which the procedure is performed. If you can find a good Chicago Plastic Surgeon offering the procedure for a price in this range, it’s a deal on par with what you’d find anywhere else.
Again, since all the major Chicago Plastic Surgeons will offer this procedure, we recommend going with the one you feel most comfortable with - and don’t hesitate to negotiate the price! Often, you can do much better than the list price and save 10-20% if you are willing to bargain.
